As a mobile service provider, we are required by law to store identification and usage data. You can find out which data must be stored and for how long in this legal article: Ordinance on the Surveillance of Postal and Telecommunications Traffic.
You can also find further information on the subject of data in our data protection declaration.
Request for information
You have the right to information regarding your data stored by digitec connect. We will respond to requests for information that you submit to us within the statutory period (normally within 30 days). Please proceed as follows to exercise your right to information:
- Contact us via the contact form with the following text: I request that you provide me, within 30 days, with information about my data stored at digitec connect for the following telephone number: xxx
- Attach a photo of an official Swiss identity document (Swiss passport, Swiss identification card, Swiss foreigner's identity card). This file will be deleted immediately after the identity check. Data that is not necessary for the identification of the applicant can be made unrecognisable (e.g. height, photo, ID number).
Please note: If you not only want data information in connection with the digitec connect mobile phone subscription, but also data information on the online shops digitec.ch and galaxus.ch linked to the same login, you must request this separately. The Help Centre will provide you with information on this.
Data deletion request
Certain requirements must be met before your data stored with digitec connect can be deleted. These are derived from the legal obligations as a mobile phone service provider: Ordinance on the Surveillance of Postal and Telecommunications Traffic.
- All subscriptions must have been cancelled for at least 6 months.
- There must be no outstanding invoices.
- There must be no Family + Friends members with active subscriptions that are billed via your payment method.
In order to subsequently dispute an invoice, it is advisable to print out or save the required documents before deleting the invoice. If the requirements are met, proceed as follows:
- Contact us via the contact form with the following text: I request that you delete my data stored with digitec connect for the following telephone number within 30 days: xxx.
- Attach a photo of an official Swiss identity document (Swiss passport, Swiss identification card, Swiss foreigner's identity card). This file will be deleted immediately after the identity check, regardless of the request for deletion. Data that is not necessary for the identification of the applicant can be made unrecognisable (e.g. height, photo, ID number).
Please note: If you would like to delete not only the data associated with the digitec connect mobile phone subscription, but also your data associated with the same login to the digitec.ch or galaxus.ch online shops, you must do this separately. Log in to the shops digitec.ch and galaxus.ch and select Delete user account.
Further information
If you want to use templates for registering a data disclosure or data deletion request from the Internet or other sources, this is no problem. However, this usually has no influence on the result of the request.
You can also submit both requests by post. In this case, please also enclose a copy of an official Swiss identity document.
